Musk’s X Platform Stands With Users Unfairly Treated Due to Posts, Promises Legal Support

Elon Musk’s X social media platform has committed to standing with its users who face unfair treatment from employers due to their postings or likes on the platform.

Reuters reported that Musk’s promise includes providing financial support to offset legal expenses as well as initiating legal action against firms in order to make their actions against users “extremely loud.”

The decision comes as X reports increased monthly users while dealing with advertising revenue challenges.

Standing Up for X Users

Elon Musk, the man behind other major firms like SpaceX and Tesla, is no stranger to making headlines with his bold and audacious ideas.

His X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, has now taken a stand to support its users who have experienced adverse consequences from their social media activity.

In a recent post on X, Musk stated, “If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill,” promising unlimited funding for users’ legal needs.

No Holds Barred

Musk’s commitment to protecting users does not stop at financial support. He boldly declared that X would not shy away from suing companies that unjustly target their users.

“We won’t just sue, it will be extremely loud, and we will go after the boards of directors of the companies too,” Musk said in response to a post highlighting the efficacy of legal action as a catalyst for behavioral change.

X’s Surging Success

While Musk’s stand against unfair treatment garners attention, X has also been celebrating its soaring success in terms of user numbers.

Late last month, Musk announced that X reached a “new high,” with monthly users surpassing a staggering 540 million. This milestone comes amid organizational changes within the platform and efforts to counter falling advertising revenue.

However, the rise of X’s popularity has also invited competition. Meta Platforms, previously known as Facebook, launched a rival platform called Threads on July 5th, aiming to take on X in the social media space. Despite this challenge, X executives have remained confident in the platform’s traction and viability.

A Shift to Becoming an “Everything App”

To expand its scope and offerings, X recently underwent a rebranding and unveiled a new logo, bidding farewell to its iconic blue bird emblem that symbolized the broadcasting of ideas worldwide.

The platform now seeks to evolve into an “everything app,” encompassing various functionalities beyond its original microblogging roots.

Despite X’s growing user base and ambitions, the platform faces financial challenges. Musk admitted that X’s cash flow remains negative, mainly due to a drastic 50% drop in advertising revenue, compounded by a significant debt load.

An anticipated uptick in advertising revenue that was expected in June failed to materialize, adding to the complexities of navigating the evolving digital advertising landscape.
