Spoiler alert! If you haven’t seen the finale of season 5 of Love Is Blind, proceed with caution.
Wedding bells are ringing, Love Is Blind fans! Season 5 of the Netflix dating show has come to a close with just two couples heading to the altar.
Lydia Velez Gonzalez and James Milton Johnson IV (aka Milton) got through the drama and made it to their wedding day in Friday’s finale drop.
Despite being significantly younger, Milton has shown his maturity in many ways, shutting down Uche’s attempts to poison him against Lydia. Milton stepped away from the interaction looking like a 10. And when his family seemed to call out Lydia’s intentions, Milton brushed that off too, looking confident in his decision.
But in their final pre-wedding dinner together, the couple expressed some frustrations with one another.
Lydia complained about her fiancé’s behavior around the house, outlining his messy habits. When he tells her he’s trying, she replies, “If this is you trying your best, then I’m concerned.”
But Lydia can’t seem to take it the same way she can dish it, because when Milton points out that he didn’t like the way she handled the situation with Uche at the party, she gets very upset.
“I don’t feel like I can tell you honestly how I feel a lot because you are so emotional,” Milton said to his future bride.
He also added that he’s concerned because he wants to teach his future children to be level-headed and not to react based on their emotions. The conversation caused Lydia to have to excuse herself from the table before returning, clearly upset and hurt.
It was a tense exchange to have right before the wedding episode, leaving viewers to wonder whether the two will go through with the nuptials when the time comes.
But Lydia rolled into her wedding day more confident than Milton’s mustache, rocking lots of “Bride” swag. She told her loved ones that she was “100 percent certain” that her man is “the one.”
And despite the fact that he literally got no sleep due to working overnight, Milton seems to be in good spirits too, admitting he hadn’t yet written his vows.
But when it comes time, the pair both say “I do,” making them the only successful couple of season 5.
So are these two still together? That remains to be seen. The season 5 reunion special is set to stream Sunday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. ET on Netflix, so fans will have to wait until then for current answers on the pair.
ET did some digging online to try to figure things out. Neither one is following the other on social media, but it’s not uncommon for the cast to wipe their pages clean of any spoilers about their relationship status. Milton did like one of Lydia’s friend’s birthday posts in honor of her special day back in August.
Season 5 of Love Is Blind was filmed in early 2022, so if they are still together, the couple has been keeping their marriage a secret for more than a year.
